NC Catholics NOW: St. Patrick in Fayetteville is 200 years old

Above: St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fayetteville celebrated its Bicentennial with a Mass of Thanksgiving and Celebration Aug. 6.

It all started with four words in a journal dated Aug. 6, 1821. And today St. Patrick Church is 200 years old! NC Catholics NOW visits the Fayetteville parish to talk with Father Greg Lowchy, pastor, and Harry Doody, historian. Longtime parishioners Kay Owens, Mary Kosterman Hopkins and Martha Beck Wood share their thoughts, as does Heidi Bleazey, an educator from the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum, which is hosting a St. Patrick exhibit. And be sure to catch a special anniversary wish at the end!
