Start Advent off right on Sunday, December 3, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in Ignatius Hall at Saint Raphael Parish in Raleigh. The Rite of Election will be celebrated for the catechumens of the Diocese of Raleigh on the first Sunday of Lent. The Rite will be centered on the transition of the catechumens, those being prepared for baptism, confirmation and first Eucharist, into the elect.

Since 1983, retreats and socials for persons with disabilities have been organized in this diocese at various retreat centers and parishes. This particular event is a social (Christmas party) at a location that is accessible. It involves music, sharing, gifts and lunch. Over the years we have had spiritual directors such as Msgr. David Brockman, Msgr. John Wall, Msgr. Jerry Lewis and many priests who are now deceased.
