On Saturday, October 10th, The Office of Evangelization and Discipleship and the Collaborative on Special Needs and Disabilities are presenting a Special Needs Workshop for clergy, parish catechetical leaders, youth ministers, catechists, special needs ministry volunteers and parents.

Come to learn how to assist special needs students in encountering and growing closer to Christ with creative lesson adaptations.

This day is for all who minister with special needs children and will begin at 9:00 am and conclude by noon.

Joe Paprocki from Loyola Press will present "Communicating the Plan" easy and effective ways to communicate the vision and plan for faith formation programming in an ever-changing environment.  Newly ordained, Fr. Matthew Nwafor will share in prayer with us along with a spiritual reflection by Durham's new Christian Band the Meek Squad.

Join other men (ages 17-35) from around the diocese in the 2020 Ultimate Seminarian Invitational. Due to the coronavirus, we will observe the prescriptions for separation and interaction as suggested by the CDC, as well as the NC state mask mandate. Wear athletic shoes and sports clothes; we will provide water. Dinner will be provided by the Knights of Columbus. It is a fun-filled afternoon where good friendships are made with our seminarians.

Online:  Bishop Zarama will speak from his heart about ministering during COVID-19 and the opportunity for all of us to seize this moment to do something beautiful for God. Our musical guest Mr. Tony Melendez will lead us (in the words of St. Pope John Paul II) “toward hope.”

A White Mass is a Mass offered for health-care professionals and others involved in the medical field, as an opportunity to reflect on the role of Catholics in health care. The White Mass is also an opportunity for the building, supporting, and strengthening of ties between health-care workers, patients, and the community at large.

The Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Luis Zarama.
