Mr. Jim Towey, author and former White House Director of Faith Based Community Initiatives and contributor to the recent box office film, "Mother Teresa: No Greater Love," will be discussing his book, "To Love and to be Loved," on Thursday, March 9, at Mother Teresa Catholic Church in Cary at 6 p.m.
The 29th Annual Run for Life will be held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, with the mile run beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K starting at 9 a.m.
EVERY Friday evening during Lent St. Francis de Sales Catholic Parish of Lumberton is hosting a Stations of the Cross/Lenten Soup Dinner. The English Stations begin in the Church at 6:00 pm, with our Traditional Lenten Soup & Bread Dinner served afterwards in the Social Hall. At 7:15 pm, back in the Church after soup, the Stations are reflected on in Spanish.
In addition to the regular Stations of the Cross, join St. Michael parishioners during Lent to pray Stations of the Cross: Overcoming Racism led by Deacon Patrick Pelkey. This is a resource, developed by USCCB, to assist persons of faith to understand and overcome racism. More detail is provided in the USCCB Pastoral Letter, Open Wide Our Hearts: The Enduring Call to Love. A rich Lenten reflection, this prayer resource can help open our hearts to the persistent sin of racism.
