Looking back, looking ahead in the diocese's centennial year

As we continue celebrating our diocesan centennial, there are many opportunities to learn more about the rich history of the Diocese of Raleigh.

Father Chris Koehn delivered a well-attended talk on the history of the Diocese of Raleigh at the diocesan Eucharistic Congress in October 2023. The congress kicked off the diocese's Centennial Celebration in advance of its 100th anniversary on Dec. 12, 2024.

In November, Monsignor Jerry Lewis, gave an oral history presentation to a group of NC State students. As a longtime pastor, former vicar general and current archivist in the Diocese of Raleigh, Monsignor Lewis offered unique insights about the how the growth of the Catholic community both influenced and reflected the growth and progress in Eastern North Carolina during the past 100 years.
