Start Advent off right on Sunday, December 3, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in Ignatius Hall at Saint Raphael Parish in Raleigh. Learn about the liturgical season of Advent, enjoy time with St. Nicholas, sip on some hot cocoa, explore different cultural traditions, meet the saints of this season, decorate your Advent wreath, and enjoy the camaraderie with your family. The per-family registration of $15 covers everything, including an Advent wreath, wreath decorations & candles, one cookie per child, hot cocoa, popcorn, and craft activities!
The Rite of Election will be celebrated for the catechumens of the Diocese of Raleigh on the first Sunday of Lent. The Rite will be centered on the transition of the catechumens, those being prepared for baptism, confirmation and first Eucharist, into the elect.

Since 1983, retreats and socials for persons with disabilities have been organized in this diocese at various retreat centers and parishes. This particular event is a social (Christmas party) at a location that is accessible. It involves music, sharing, gifts and lunch. Over the years we have had spiritual directors such as Msgr. David Brockman, Msgr. John Wall, Msgr. Jerry Lewis and many priests who are now deceased.
