They walked into the church in simple white albs and walked out in vestments that signified their new ministerial roles as deacons. Gabriel Alexander Nugent and Leonardo Espinosa López, seminarians for the Diocese of Raleigh, became transitional deacons April 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church.
