Diocese of Raleigh opens applications for Tuition Assistance Program supporting African American and Native American students

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Diocese of Raleigh Office of Education has announced that applications for the 2026-2027 African American and Native American Ancestry Tuition Assistance program will open on February 1, 2026, offering financial support to eligible Catholic school students across the diocese.

The scholarship program provides tuition assistance to students of African American and Native American heritage enrolled in Catholic schools from preschool through 12th grade within the Diocese of Raleigh. This initiative aims to make Catholic education more accessible to families in these communities.

"This program represents our commitment to supporting diverse families in Catholic education," said Anna Bragg, director of Marketing and Enrollment Management for the diocese, who serves as the contact person for inquiries about the program.

The tuition assistance awards are funded through a combination of parish second collection donations and a grant from the Black and Indian Mission Office, an organization founded by Catholic bishops of the United States to support educational and pastoral ministries serving African American, Native American, and Alaska Native communities.
