The Property and Construction Office is the primary liaison between parishes and the Diocesan Building and Real Estate Commission, the body which reviews and recommends approval to the Bishop for major construction projects, renovations, and land purchases and sales.
The office also oversees diocesan facilities, maintains a routine inspection program of parish facilities to promote proactive maintenance, and provides direct consultative services to parishes, missions, and schools related to planning, design, construction, real estate, demographics, and smaller facility projects such as re-roofing work.
Construction and cost information from prior diocesan projects is available for reference, as is information on architects, consultants, and general contractors. Contracts, drawings, and certificates of insurance for parish, mission, and school projects are also reviewed by the office prior to execution.
