Renewing the heart of our church

San Juan Diego Mission received a Parish Assistance Grant, made possible through the generous support of the Bishop's Annual Appeal (BAA), allowing the parish to replace its tabernacle and create a more fitting and prominent place for the Blessed Sacrament.

The previous tabernacle was quite small and could easily be overshadowed by the surrounding images and architectural elements. While functional, it did not fully reflect the central place the Eucharist holds in our Catholic faith. The new tabernacle now serves as a beautiful focal point within the church, drawing hearts and minds more intentionally to the Real Presence of Jesus.

The impact has been immediate. Parishioners have expressed appreciation for the beauty and reverence the new tabernacle brings to the sanctuary, and it has become a natural center for prayer and devotion. As worshippers gather for the Saturday Vigil Mass and three Sunday Masses each weekend, they are welcomed into a sacred space that more clearly reflects Christ at the center of parish life.

The new tabernacle has enhanced the worship experience for parishioners and visitors alike, providing a visible reminder of the importance of the Eucharist in the life of the Church. By placing greater emphasis on the Blessed Sacrament, the parish has fostered a deeper spirit of reverence and encouraged greater devotion among the faithful.

San Juan Diego Mission is deeply grateful to the Diocese of Raleigh and to all who support the Bishop's Annual Appeal for making this project possible. Through the Parish Assistance Grant Program, this investment has strengthened the spiritual atmosphere of the parish and enriched the faith lives of the many individuals and families who encounter Christ in the Eucharist each week. This improvement will continue to inspire prayer, devotion, and a deeper connection to the heart of our Catholic faith for years to come.
