RALEIGH, NC—Educators and clergy from Diocese of Raleigh Catholic Schools gathered at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral for the annual All-Schools Employee Mass, marking the start of the new academic year.
Bishop Luis Zarama celebrated the Mass, which brought together pastors, principals, teachers, administrators, and staff from the diocese’s 28 Catholic schools. In his homily, Bishop Luis spoke of the crucial role school employees play in shaping the future by working with young people. Marcelo Eureste, recently appointed superintendent of schools, also addressed the attendees with heartfelt enthusiasm as he prepared to begin his first school year in the diocese.
Following the liturgy, the community gathered for fellowship on the cathedral piazza. Despite overcast skies, the weather did not dampen the spirit of the event. As part of the day’s activities, attendees participated in a Catholic Charities Food Drive by bringing non-perishable items to support local families.
The All-Schools Employee Mass serves as a unifying celebration for Catholic school educators, reaffirming their shared commitment to faith, service and the work of Catholic education in eastern North Carolina.
