Mission
The mission of the diocesan Racial Justice and Reconciliation ministry is promoting and witnessing to the intrinsic dignity of the human person as an antidote to the grave sin of racism.
Our Ministry
The Racial Justice and Reconciliation Ministry initiative represents diversity in the Diocese through an annual St. Peter Claver Mass in September, hosting Overcoming Racism: Stations of the Cross in local parishes, and gathering in community through ongoing reflection and events. Racism arises in the actions and inactions of individuals and is ingrained in our institutions and public policies. Our faith calls us both to personal conversion and to the transformation of our society. With the help of Sacred Scripture, the Church's Social Doctrine and sacred tradition, this is an open invitation to walk towards reconciliation.
