Business and Fiscal Services

The Business and Fiscal Services department supports the pastoral mission of the diocese by serving parishes and schools through prudent stewardship of the temporal resources of the Church, including funds generously provided by its parishioners and donors.

The Business and Fiscal Services department reports to the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer of the diocese and is divided into two major functional areas of support – the Controller’s Office and the Financial Planning and Analysis Office.

The Controller’s Office is responsible for centralized payroll, the management of parish deposits and withdrawals and loan disbursements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, diocesan financial reporting and budgeting, parish billing, and through a service agreement, Foundation financial reporting and administration.

The Financial Planning and Analysis Office is responsible for parish loan and capital project approvals and reviews, the blanket property and general liability insurance program for parishes, parish financial analysis and financial comparisons, and diocesan offertory reporting. In addition, this office includes the Parish Audit and Accounting Service, which includes parish and school audits, parish accounting services, and parish financial system implementation and coordination.
