Work Arrangement: Part-Time / 10 hours per week / Hybrid (primarily remote)
Position Summary:
The Pastoral Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the spiritual care of the parish’s elderly, sick and patients at UNC Hospitals through organizing Eucharistic Minister visits, on-site Masses at care centers, homebound visits and anointing of the sick.
Key responsibilities:
- Directs volunteers to ensure schedules are clear and that parishioners in need of spiritual support receive care.
- Coordinates with care facilities and UNC Hospitals for the provision of on-site prayer services/Masses and Eucharistic Minister visits.
- Notifies clergy for specific requests for the Sacrament of the Sick and/or pastoral counseling.
- Assists the Deacon assigned to the Pastoral Care ministry to ensure recruitment and training of volunteers.
- Records in the sacramental register as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 1 – 2 years of professional administrative support/logistics/customer service experience.
- Proficiency in Office 360/Teams applications
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
