WORLD DAY AGAINST the DEATH PENALTY on October 10th | Join Catholics for Abolition in NC
for Prayer and Peaceful Protest in Raleigh
This year’s Annual WDADP falls on a Saturday, so we’re changing our protest time and focus. Meet us outside Central Prison, starting at 10:30AM till 11:30AM. For those interested, a group will gather to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet for the souls of the men executed at Central Prison, from 1984 up to 2006. We will read each of the 43 names.
Bring a homemade sign or you can borrow one of ours! This is a family-friendly event. Parking is available at Dix Park. To enter, turn onto Hunt Drive, directly across from Central Prison at the traffic light. The crosswalk has a quick timer. For those who may need to go more slowly crossing Western Blvd, you can park along the streets within Boylan Heights, the neighborhood immediately next to the prison.
