Position Summary:

The Parishioner Engagement Coordinator strengthens the spiritual and relational life of the Parish by helping members and visitors feel welcomed, connected, and supported. This role oversees engagement pathways from first‑time visits to long‑term involvement, ensuring people can easily find community, serve in ministries, and grow in their faith. The coordinator partners closely with pastors, ministry leaders, and volunteers to cultivate a vibrant, connected congregation.

Key responsibilities:

Communication & Relationship Building

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for parishioners seeking information or involvement.
  • Create clear, accessible communication about ministries, programs, and engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with staff to produce newsletters, announcements, and digital updates related to parishioner involvement.
  • Organize quarterly stewardship fairs.
  • Organize annual volunteer thank you event.

Welcome & Connection Pathways

  • Develop and manage systems for welcoming new parishioners, promoting giving, tracking follow‑up, and integrating new parishioners into parish life.
  • Ensure new parishioners receive timely communication, invitations, and next‑step opportunities.
  • Maintain a warm, visible presence at major Parish events.
  • Support and coordinate with community renters.

Ministry Support

  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers for hospitality, outreach, and engagement ministries.
  • Serve as the staff lead for hospitality and community ministries, assisting with planning, scheduling, communication, and administrative tasks.
  • Partner with ministry leaders to match parishioners with service opportunities that fit their gifts and interests.
  • Track volunteer participation and identify areas for growth or additional support.

Administrative & Data Management

  • Maintain church management software with accurate membership, attendance, and engagement data.
  • Provide support services to bulletin and website operations.
  • Prepare reports on engagement trends, volunteer and financial stewardship participation, and newcomer integration.
  • Assist with planning, logistics, and communication for engagement‑related events.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
  • Perform periodic reviews of parishioner status.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Practicing Roman Catholic with knowledge of and a commitment to Catholic teachings, practices, and the mission of the Church.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, approachable presence.
  • Strong technology skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), database management, cloud-based file sharing, and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to build relationships across diverse ages, backgrounds, and ministry areas.
  • Organizational and project‑management skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfort with church management systems, databases, and digital communication tools.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling pastoral and personal information.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience in ministry coordination, community engagement, hospitality, or nonprofit work.
  • Familiarity with church environments and discipleship processes.
