Position Summary:

The Art Teacher for grades K–4 is responsible for delivering a comprehensive visual arts program that supports students’ creative, academic, and spiritual development. Instruction is designed to foster artistic expression, foundational skills in art, and an appreciation for beauty and creativity rooted in the Catholic faith. The role includes integrating faith-based values into instruction, encouraging creativity across multiple mediums, and contributing to a positive school culture that reflects the mission and vision of Infant of Prague Catholic School.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate, standards-based art lessons for grades K–4
  • Incorporate a variety of artistic techniques, media, and introductory art history
  • Integrate Catholic values, themes, and traditions into art instruction
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through projects, portfolios, and participation
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and creative classroom environment
  • Display student artwork throughout the school and support school-wide events
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs of young learners
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support interdisciplinary learning
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and development
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities
  • Support and potentially lead extracurricular opportunities such as an art club

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field
  • 3+ years (teaching or relevant experience preferred)
  • Teaching certification is required.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred and must support the mission, vision, and teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to integrate faith and learning within a Catholic school setting.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
  • Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience teaching elementary art (grades K–4)
  • Experience in a Catholic or faith-based school setting
  • Familiarity with integrating religious themes into creative instruction
  • Experience with digital art tools and technology integration
  • Ability to lead extracurricular programs such as an art club
