The Rite of Election will be celebrated for the catechumens on the first Sunday of Lent on February 22, 2026, at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral at a new start time of 5:00pm. The Rite is centered on the transition of the catechumens, those being prepared for baptism, confirmation and first Eucharist, into the elect.
In preparation for the Rite of Election, we asked the person in charge of OCIA to complete the following form before February 10, 2026:

Complete this form one per parish and add the total number of catechumens (adults and children who speak English and Spanish).
El Rito de Elección para los catecúmenos se celebrará el primer domingo de Cuaresma, 22 de febrero de 2026, en la Catedral Santo Nombre de Jesús con el nuevo horario de las 5:00 p.m. Este rito se centra en la transición de los catecúmenos a elegidos, quienes se preparan para recibir el bautismo, la confirmación y la primera comunión.
Como preparación para el Rito, solicitamos que la persona a cargo del RICA complete el siguiente formulario antes del 10 de febrero de 2026.
