Position Summary:
St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish is seeking a full-time (35-hrs/week) Coordinator of Membership & Stewardship to foster the growth of parishioner engagement through new member events, community building activities, acknowledgement of volunteer gifts of time, talent and treasure, and cultivating parishioner relationships. Additionally, the individual in this role manages giving, membership, and user data, ensuring accuracy and security. The ideal candidate will build and maintain positive working relationships and open communication with staff, volunteers, parishioners, and the local community to promote the parish mission of Worship, Education, and Service. The scope of this role will include support for St. Michael Church, St. Michael School, and St. Michael Preschool, as needed. This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Director of Development and Community Engagement.
Key responsibilities:
- Member Engagement, including but not limited to:
- Coordinating the welcome of new families to the parish through communication and new member events.
- Preparing new member welcome folders and managing the welcome process.
- Responding to ad-hoc new member inquiries.
- Supporting the overall membership experience, inclusive of connections for ministry involvement and social events for membership.
- Member Data Management, including but not limited to:
- Generating regular member data reports and fulfilling ad-hoc data requests.
- Staying informed about the current data platform, communicating updates to relevant staff, addressing member inquiries, and supporting member data projects.
- Managing member records: daily, weekly, annual tasks inclusive of auditing the change log, maintaining accurate membership records, and preparing reports as needed for diocesan reporting.
- Coordinate and Cultivate Stewardship (Time, Talent, & Treasure):
- Support ad-hoc member inquiries, including requests to volunteer, donate, or understand stewardship.
- Support the planning and execution of donor and volunteer events, including capital campaigns and annual fundraising efforts for the church and the schools.
- Contribute to a measurable increase in giving and volunteerism.
- Manage Stewardship Data including:
- Physical envelope management versus online giving
- Church registration for active contributors
- Member volunteer registration and follow-up
- Coordinate with Finance as needed on the following for reporting:
- Online giving and auto draft.
- Envelope extract report, envelope updates & orders.
- Giving Form activation and deactivation communication.
- Collection calendar management.
- Verification of school families Steward profile fields.
- Other Duties as required, necessary or assigned by the Pastor
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and demonstrated experience that includes program development and implementation and event planning and execution - or any equivalent combination of education or training which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Positive attitude with determination, humility, and compassion.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly presentation and relationship building abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Creative self-starter with ability to work independently and thrive as a volunteer team leader.
- Effective organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient use of data analytics to optimize business results.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A practicing Catholic in good standing and an active Christian steward with a thorough understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church is preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish speaker is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- May require occasional local travel to meetings.
- This is an in-office position, which requires some flexibility in the work schedule including ability to take occasional after business hours or weekend meetings and events.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform light work (up to 30-lbs). of lifting, carrying, pushing.
