Position Summary:
St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School, a vibrant and faith-filled PreK–8 community in the Diocese of Raleigh, is seeking a dynamic Media and Information Technology Teacher/Coordinator. This position blends student instruction with essential staff technology support and school-wide software management, all within the framework of Catholic values and mission.
Key responsibilities:
- Student Instruction (Grades K–8):
- Teach weekly media and technology classes aligned with diocesan technology standards.
- Integrate digital literacy and citizenship, responsible internet use, coding, research skills, and media creation into engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support cross-curricular technology integration.
- Staff Technology Support:
- Provide on-demand and scheduled technology support to faculty and staff for devices, instructional tools, and systems.
- Offer professional development and coaching to build staff confidence in using classroom technology effectively.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in partnership with the school’s IT service provider.
- Train staff on expectations for student care and use of school-issued devices
- School-Wide Technology Coordination:
- Manage instructional software licenses, access, and data integrations (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, iReady, ARK, FACTS SIS, etc.).
- Maintain device inventory and oversee the student 1:1 Chromebook program.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure the security and efficiency of technology systems.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend upgrades or changes that benefit the organization.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in all IT operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Educational Technology, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum years of 3 years of related work experience.
- Teaching license or willingness to pursue licensure.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong instructional background and ability to teach students across a range of grade levels (K - 8).
- Proficiency with educational technology platforms and tools including but not limited to Google Workspace for Education and FACTS SIS.
- Familiarity with student data privacy standards and 1:1 device programs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a team-first mindset.
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education and the ability to serve as a faith-filled role model.
