Position Summary:
St. Peter Catholic School is seeking a Middle School Social Studies Teacher! The Middle School Social Studies Teacher is responsible for creating a supportive learning environment that fosters students' development in social studies, critical thinking, and communication skills. This role involves designing and implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes. The Middle School English Teacher collaborates with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support students' academic and social-emotional growth. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in English language arts.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, teach, and interact with students in a professional way that challenges students to reach their individual potential
- Performance of professional responsibilities not limited to planning lessons, preparing instructional material, taking attendance, signing in and out daily, serving on staff committees, conferring with parents, maintaining positive relationships
- Implementation of the educational mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the school both at the Diocesan and Parish level
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum level of Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- At least 1 year of professional experience working with children is preferred.
- Must hold a NC Licensure in Education or equivalent from another state.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training prior to start.
