Position Summary:
St. Patrick Catholic School is seeking a 6th to 8th Grade math teacher. This person would be a passionate and knowledgeable educator with a strong foundation in mathematical content and pedagogy. The ideal candidate will support the school’s mission statement by fostering a love of learning and developing confident, critical-thinking students through engaging and rigorous math instruction.

Key responsibilities:
- Teach math to students in grades 6–8, including courses such as general math and Math I, while demonstrating a mastery of subject-area content.
- Develop and implement lessons that promote problem-solving, analytical thinking, and real-world application of mathematical concepts.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and ensure all students are appropriately challenged and supported.
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
- Integrate technology and hands-on activities into math lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff, working closely with middle school staff.
- Accept the mission of the school as articulated at the school level.
- Support the educational mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the school.
- Maintain regular communication with parents and administration about student progress and classroom expectations.
- Serve as a missionary disciple and contribute to a faith-filled, positive school culture that values academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community building.
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidate should possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Successfully complete Diocesan background and reference checks.
- Complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training prior to first day.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidate should hold a NC teaching license in Middle Grades Mathematics, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Candidate should have three or more years experience teaching math in a middle school setting.
- Familiarity with current best practices in math instruction, including standards-based learning and assessment.
