Following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene last fall, countless compassionate individuals stepped up to support families in Western North Carolina, helping them meet immediate needs and begin the long road to recovery. To date, the faithful of the Diocese of Raleigh have donated more than $617,000 to help our neighbors to the west in need. Locally, generous donors also contributed essential supplies, including non-perishable food and water, cleaning materials, and hygiene items at five collection sites across the diocese. Financial contributions also played a crucial role in enabling Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Charlotte to assist affected families.

In addition, staff from Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh have made multiple trips to Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee to provide guidance, share best practices, and assist local agencies in developing effective response and recovery plans. While many survivors still face significant challenges, the ongoing collaboration between Catholic Charities agencies in Raleigh and Charlotte, along with the Knights of Columbus, is helping to accelerate recovery efforts and bring hope to those in need.
