Position Summary:
St. Bernadette Catholic Church Parish of Fuquay Varina, NC is seeking a Director of Music. The director of liturgical music serves the parish as principal musician, organist, and choir director according to the highest professional standards established by this profession. Additionally, and in communion with the Pastor to create an atmosphere of worship and reverence within the Catholic Church.
Key responsibilities:
- Attends weekly staff meetings.
- Creates and provides worship aids for weekend Masses as well as other special Liturgies like weddings and funerals.
- Creates and manages budget for the Music Ministry, including purchase of music, payment of additional musical personnel, copyright fees, etc.
- Creates schedule of cantors and psalmists for the Liturgies that require music.
- Establishes and maintains contact with resources both within as well as outside the parish musical and liturgical community to facilitate the growth of new ideas.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work collaboratively as an effective parish staff team member.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing a background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
