Position Summary:
St. Thomas More Parish in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a Director of Music Ministry to join the parish. The Director of Music Ministry (DMM) oversees all aspects of liturgical music in the parish and directs the Schola Cantorum and Hand Bell Choirs.
Key responsibilities:
- Works closely with all choir directors
- Work within liturgical guidelines and norms of the Catholic Church
- Flow easily between contemporary, praise & worship, traditional and age-appropriate music for children
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required with 3 or more years of experience.
- Proficiency in organ, piano and voice.
- Thorough knowledge of Catholic Church liturgical guidelines and norms.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Bilingual ability in English and Spanish
Supervises: Choir directors, music library volunteers
Position Start Date: Immediate
