Vocations office rebuilds NCPriest.org

What do priests do? Why celibacy? What is discernment?

Answers to these questions and more can be found at NCPriest.org, the updated website of the Diocese of Raleigh Office of Vocations.

The new, mobile friendly website is intended to support and educate men and their families interested in discerning a call to the priesthood.

Pope Francis said at a Vocations Promotion Conference on October 21, 2016, “Vocations promotion is the responsibility of every Catholic.”

New to NCPriest.org are resources for parents, parishes and schools.

There are ideas for how families can foster vocations, ways parishes can promote vocations and ideas for classrooms.

A calendar of events maps out upcoming events hosted by the Office. The Priesthood Discernment Group meets every 3rd Saturday and is an opportunity for guys to learn about the discernment process. The meetings are led by Promoter of Vocations, Father James J. Magee, III. Look for location and format update coming soon!

“Through the website, we hope anyone interested in the priesthood will be encouraged to take the next step in responding to the call of Christ,” said Father Magee.
