Ronaldo, soccer star and world champion, baptized at 46 years old

These are images of a very special moment for Ronaldo Nazario. The former soccer player, one of the sport's legends and two-time world champion was baptized at the age of 46 in Brazil.

He shared the news on his social media with a message explaining that the Christian faith had always been a fundamental part of his life, but that he had not yet received the sacrament of baptism.

Father Fabio de Melo, a well-known priest in Brazil, celebrated the sacrament. He has more than 25 million followers on his social media.

This is not the first time the soccer player has shared his faith. In 2016, he visited the Vatican, where he attended one of Pope Francis' General Audiences. Last year, he cycled the Camino de Santiago, becoming the 106,011st pilgrim to travel there.
