Pray novena for Deacon Drew Navarro ahead of priestly ordination June 6

RALEIGH, N.C. — As Deacon Drew Navarro prepares for his ordination to the priesthood on June 6, the Diocese of Raleigh is inviting the faithful to support him through prayer.

Navarro recently completed his formation at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, where he received a Master of Divinity degree during the May 21 commencement ceremony. His ordination Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Luis Zarama at 10 a.m. on June 6 at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral and will be livestreamed on the diocesan YouTube channel.

In the days leading up to the ordination, parishioners are encouraged to participate in a novena — nine days of prayer — for Navarro as he prepares to enter priestly ministry.

The novena offers an opportunity for individuals and families across the diocese to pray that he may faithfully preach the Gospel, celebrate the sacraments and grow ever closer to Christ the High Priest.
