Pope Francis says today 'the ugliest danger is gender ideology'

Pope Francis hosted the participants of the international conference: “Man-Woman Image of God. For an anthropology of vocations.” The conference brought philosophers, theologians and teachers together to reflect on the very nature of man and woman and their mission in the Church.

"It is very important to have this meeting—this meeting between men and women because today the ugliest danger is gender ideology, which nullifies differences," Pope Francis said. "And to erase differences is to erase humanity."

As an example, the pope recommended reading the dystopian novel, “Lord of the World.” It talks about the problems that arise when differences are erased from the world.
