Papal intentions for June: For those fleeing their own countries

In his monthly intentions for June, Pope Francis prays for those fleeing their own countries. He highlights the trauma migrants face with “feelings of uprootedness or not knowing where they belong.”

He points out that some countries see these migrants as threats, which then creates “walls in hearts.” The pope challenges Christians to not share this belief, but rather to welcome migrants as Christ.

Pope Francis reiterates the need for migrants to be accompanied, promoted and integrated in society—a society that “protects the rights and dignity of migrants.”
