Eastern NC generosity supports global Church mission

RALEIGH — The Diocese of Raleigh contributed a total of $681,928.06 to United States Conference of Catholic Bishops National Collections in 2025.

In a recent letter to Bishop Luis Zarama, the USCCB expressed gratitude for the generosity of parishioners across the diocese, noting that these contributions support faith communities and people in vulnerable situations both in the United States and around the world.

The total reflects funds remitted for several major annual collections, including the Catholic Relief Services Collection, Catholic Home Missions Appeal, Peter’s Pence, and others. The letter emphasized the impact of national collections in advancing the Church’s pastoral, charitable and humanitarian outreach, made possible through the stewardship of the faithful.

“I am deeply grateful for the generosity of our parishioners, whose faithful support allows the mission of the Church to reach far beyond eastern North Carolina and bring hope to those most in need,” Bishop Luis said.
