Qualified Charitable Donation (QCD)

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $100,000 directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.

Donor Advised Fund

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes.

If you have a donor advised fund, DAF Direct enables you to recommend grants to this nonprofit directly from your DAF (as long as your DAF's sponsoring organization is participating).

Restricted gifts

A restricted gift is one in which a donor indicates a gift to be used for a specific purpose. To support one of the following by donating online, please use this donation form.

  • Office of the Bishop
  • Office of Vocations
  • Office of Education
  • Faith Formation
  • Priest Welfare

Unrestricted gifts

An unrestricted gift to the Diocese of Raleigh is a contribution upon which a donor places no restrictions. These gifts provide flexibility for the Bishop to meet the unexpected needs of our fast-growing Diocese throughout the year.

The Bishop’s Annual Appeal is the most effective avenue in which these gifts make a difference. The ministries it supports includes: Seminarians and Vocations, Marriage, Family and Respect Life, Catholic Charities, Ministry Support, and Christian Education.
