Characteristics of missionary formation: knowledge leaders
- Shows clear signs of being a committed Catholic and follower of Jesus (has gone through the stages of conversion personally)
- Spiritual gifts may include teaching, knowledge, wisdom, pastoring, faith, leadership
- Is a compelling and interesting public speaker
- Is competent in the area of formation that is being given evidenced by experience, education, etc.
- Is willing to commit to faithful transmission of the teachings of the Catholic Church without reservations

- Is a heartfelt listener
- Is reflective and prayerful before speaking
- Can authentically and faithfully transmit the kerygma in spoken witness
- An ability to discern what another’s spirit needs

- Understands the role of love, mercy and healing as a part of their ministry
- Is prayerful before acting
- Can authentically and faithfully transmit the kerygma as part of one’s lived experience
