Characteristics of missionary formation: knowledge leaders

  • Shows clear signs of being a committed Catholic and follower of Jesus (has gone through the stages of conversion personally)
  • Spiritual gifts may include teaching, knowledge, wisdom, pastoring, faith, leadership
  • Is a compelling and interesting public speaker
  • Is competent in the area of formation that is being given evidenced by experience, education, etc.
  • Is willing to commit to faithful transmission of the teachings of the Catholic Church without reservations

  • Is a heartfelt listener
  • Is reflective and prayerful before speaking
  • Can authentically and faithfully transmit the kerygma in spoken witness
  • An ability to discern what another’s spirit needs

  • Can authentically and faithfully transmit the kerygma as part of one’s lived experience
