Add to Calendar 2020-03-05 18:00:00 2020-03-05 18:00:00 North Carolina Catholics Volunteer (NCCV) Spring Work Weekend NC Catholics Volunteer has partnered with local repair / rebuild ministries to assist families impacted by Hurricanes Matthew and Florence. This long-weekend service opportunity is open to all interested in lending a hand to help those impacted by these recent disasters, and projects may include painting, putting up drywall, laying down flooring, framing, plumbing and other tasks associated with rebuilding storm-damaged homes. Long weekends are being scheduled so that major projects can be accomplished allowing homeowners to return to their homes that much quicker. Absolutely no experience is necessary...only a willingness to serve and help others in need. All training will be provided, but individuals must be comfortable working on a construction site and dressed in working clothes and closed toe shoes. Individuals under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, and the minimum age to participate is 13. Attendees will arrive after 6pm on Thursday, March 5th. All sleeping & shower accommodations will be provided on-site. Groceries will be provided by Raleigh Diocese Catholic Charities, and all attendees will collectively participate in meal prep & clean-up. Attendees are expected to provide a sleeping bag or bedding, as well as hygiene necessities and a bath towel. Sufficient work clothing should also be brought for the entire weekend.
