Faith Formation Leaders Day

Add to Calendar 2019-06-04 08:30:00 2019-06-04 08:30:00 Faith Formation Leaders Day The Diocese of Raleigh will be presenting a Faith Formation Day for all parish leaders who share in the vision of missionary discipleship for themselves and others on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Clayton from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm (check in begins at 8:30 am).  This day is for leaders who orient their lives in love to Christ and with trust in the Holy Spirit desire to foster a renewal of faith. For this day, we hope with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, a renewal of faith can be fostered in ourselves, so we are able to return to our ministries and parish community equipped to form evangelizers who can transform the world. The day will begin with presenter Everett Fritz, author of The Art of Forming Disciples for Christ. Time will be allotted following his presentation for accompanying others in similar ministries with sharing focused on integrating the discipleship model into each area of ministry. Opportunities for encountering God through a Holy Hour of meditation, prayer, gospel reflection and song will be modeled by Fr. Ian VanHeusen  with music by Dana Catherine.  In the afternoon, John R. Wood, author of Ordinary Lives Extraordinary Mission, will share a presentation designed to guide our hearts toward personal sanctity and ministerial fruitfulness. Personal time will be allotted to reflect on making commitments, drawing closer to God and practical changes in approach to prayer life and spiritual life. In addition, communal discussions on implementing principles of growth in holiness into personal life as a leader in ministry. Concluding the day, Patrick Ginty, Associate Director for the Office of Evangelization and Discipleship, will communicate what’s new in the diocesan leadership formation plan for equipping leaders, including foundational catechesis preparation, Franciscan University Catechetical Institute (FICU) certificates and three upcoming events that include Special Needs Formation, TeamRCIA Institute and FICU Mentorship Training. For more detailed information here is the schedule for the day. Together please pray for a day leading to mysterious fruitfulness. “Let us ask the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us a fervent longing to be saints for God’s greater glory, and let us encourage one another in this effort. In this way, we will share a happiness that the world will not be able to take from us.” (On the Call to Holiness in Today’s World, 177) All are welcome!  Share the Faith Formation Leaders Day Flyer with a friend!
