Key responsibilities:
- Accept and actively support the mission of Saint Raphael Catholic School as articulated at the diocesan and school level
- Model and integrate virtues and values that support schoolwide core values of reverence, service, and leadership
- Serve as a witness to the Catholic faith and contribute to the spiritual formation of students through joyful, engaging instruction
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate Spanish instruction for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 that fosters curiosity, confidence, and an appreciation for language and culture
- Create engaging learning experiences that build a strong foundation for future world language study through conversation, songs, games, movement, stories, and interactive activities
- Cultivate a classroom environment that promotes participation, joy, and a willingness to take risks while learning a new language
- Utilize developmentally appropriate, research-informed instructional practices that actively engage elementary learners
- Integrate technology intentionally and appropriately to enhance student learning
- Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and administration to support schoolwide instructional goals
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with students, families, faculty, and administration
- Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the faculty, contributing to a healthy and mission-driven school culture
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and remain current with best practices in world language instruction and elementary education
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience in an area related to: Elementary Education, Spanish Instruction, or World Language Education
- Employment is contingent upon the applicant passing a full background check and completing Diocesan sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, committed to supporting and upholding the mission and teachings of Catholic education.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Spanish, World Languages, or a related field preferred.
- Teaching experience preferred
- Licensure: Valid North Carolina teaching license in an appropriate content area preferred.
