Preschool music teacher

Position Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and nurturing Preschool Music Teacher to introduce young children to the joy of music through singing, movement, rhythm, instruments, and interactive learning experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and able to create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and creative development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead age-appropriate music classes for preschool-aged children (typically ages 2–5)
• Teach basic musical concepts including rhythm, tempo, melody, and movement
• Incorporate singing, dancing, storytelling, and instruments into lessons
• Create a fun, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
• Adapt lessons to accommodate varying developmental levels and learning styles
• Maintain classroom organization, materials, and instruments
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support school programs and bi-annual performances
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Prepare students for seasonal performances or special events

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Early Childhood Education, or related field preferred
• Experience teaching music to young children or preschool-aged students
• Ability to play piano, guitar, or other accompanying instrument is a plus
• Minimum years of work experience: 1
• Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
• Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
