Position Summary:
Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Parish, a vibrant, multicultural, Jesuit parish of about 3,000 families with a school of 450 students and a preschool of 150 students, is seeking a Parish Membership Coordinator. This position is central to all parish operations and supports our mission by managing membership records, engaging parishioners according to their gifts, and encouraging financial support of annual appeals. This role serves as the first point of contact for new parishioners, ensuring a welcoming and seamless registration process. A key aspect of this initial encounter is helping guide new parishioners to ministries and groups that best engage their talents and interests, allowing them to thrive as persons of faith in the community.
Key responsibilities:
- Parishioner Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for welcoming new parishioners and coordinating member registrations
- Assist new families as they integrate into parish life by providing resources to ministry opportunities
- Foster strong relationships with parishioners through personalized outreach, communication, and follow-ups
- Database Management
- Maintain up-to-date parishioner records in the church database, in light of the challenging dynamics of ministry within a large, diverse, energetic parish
- As we transition the database from Realm to ParishSOFT next year, collaborate across all departments to ensure a smooth migration of data and operations
- Generate reports and provide insights to support church leadership in decision-making
- Maintain the confidentiality and accuracy of parishioner personal information, contributions, and ministry involvement
- Ensure data integrity through regular audits, clean up, and de-duplication processes
- Annual Appeals
- Work closely with the Pastor and the Director of Marketing & Communications to implement annual offertory appeals, second collections, and Bishop’s Annual Appeal
- Generate gift acknowledgement letters along with year-end tax statements
- Foster a culture of gratitude to inspire parishioner support and stewardship
Minimum Requirements:
- College degree or 2-5 years of comparable business experience
- 2-5 years of comparable business experience
- Dedicated to collaborative ministry and the advancement of the vision of the parish
- Attention to detail and data entry experience
- Strong writing skills
- Must be proficient in or willing to learn Microsoft Office, Google Suite, ParishSOFT, and related software
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Spanish would be beneficial
Hours and Benefits:
- This is a full-time, professional, non-exempt position. The typical workweek will be 37.5 hours Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends for registration events.
