Position Summary:
A Teacher Assistant works alongside a certified teacher to provide instructional and administrative support in a classroom setting. They help reinforce lessons, assist students individually or in small groups, and contribute to a positive, organized learning environment. The Teacher Assistant must be able to lift 20 lbs, and be able to be on your feet for a period of time.
Responsibilities:
- Support the teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities
- Assist students with assignments, projects, and understanding material
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a productive environment
- Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources
- Supervise students during non-instructional times (lunch, recess, transitions)
- Perform basic administrative tasks like grading, attendance, and organizing records
Minimum Requirements:
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
- High School Diploma or higher degree.
- At least 1 year of related work experience with children is preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- An associates degree is preferred
