Position Summary:
St. Paul Parish in New Bern, NC is seeking a Communications and Digital Evangelization Coordinator. The Communications and Digital Evangelization Coordinator supports the mission of St. Paul Parish by sharing the life of the parish through clear, engaging, and faith-filled communication. This part-time role is responsible for coordinating parish messaging across print, digital, and social media platforms in a way that invites, informs, and evangelizes. As a Roman Catholic in good standing with a passion for evangelization, the Coordinator helps ensure that parish communications reflect the beauty, goodness, and truth of the Catholic faith while fostering connection within the parish community and beyond.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee creation of weekly bulletin, weekly email, social media platforms, weekly Mass announcements, and website updates.
- Manage the daily curation, development, and presentation of compelling digital content that brings to life the beauty, goodness, and truth of the Catholic faith.
- Manage social media accounts and Google listing. Reply to comments as appropriate and forward important questions / comments to DOE as appropriate.
- Ensure that new and consistent information (articles, photos, events, etc.) is created and posted regularly and in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements:
- HS Diploma required.
- 0-2 years of work experience.
- Experience in content design and photography, especially for online and social media platforms.
- Experience handling confidential, sensitive, timely and critical matters using good judgement, tact, respect, and discretion.
- Demonstrated experience in appropriate computer technology skills; must be proficient with photo editing software and design software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA / BS in Communications or related field preferred.
- Roman Catholic in good standing with a passion for evangelization strongly desired.
- Passion for evangelization and helping others grow in relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.
