Position Summary:
St. Mary Catholic School in Wilmington, North Carolina seeks highly motivated candidates for the position of Facility Manager.
The Facility Manager oversees the maintenance, safety, and operational readiness of all parish and school buildings and grounds. This includes HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, landscaping, custodial services, and event setup. The role supports the mission of the Church by ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for worship, education, and community life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform or coordinate routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance.
- Supervise contractors and maintenance staff.
- Maintain HVAC. plumbing, electrical, security, and fire safety systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and ensure compliance with safety codes and diocesan standards.
- Respond to facility alarms and emergencies.
- Grounds & Custodial Oversight
- Oversee landscaping, snow/ice removal, and seasonal upkeep.
- Manage janitorial services and ensure cleanliness of all facilities.
- Maintain inventory oi supplies and equipment.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Event & Facility Coordination
- Coordinate setup and teardown for Masses, school functions, and parish events.
- Manage facility use calendar for parish, school, and external groups.
- Serve as primary contact for rental contracts and facility-related inquiries.
- Administrative & Budgetary Duties
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets.
- Obtain bids and oversee contracts for repairs and renovations.
- Maintain records of equipment, warranties, and service logs.
- Submit reports to parish business manager or school principal.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facility or building maintenance.
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and safety systems.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and facility management software.
- Ability to lift 50 ~ climb ladders, and work in varied weather conditions.
- On-call availability for emergencies.
- Familiarity with Catholic Church operations and values preferred.
- Must satisfactorily complete the required criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
