Middle School Science and Math Position

Hours Per Week: 40 (Full time)

Key responsibilities / day-to-day job functions:

• Foster a Catholic culture in your work with students, colleagues, administration, and parents.
• Planning and presenting engaging lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of Science and Math concepts.
• Preparing and distributing learning material such as notes, assignments, and quizzes.
• Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons.
• Maintaining a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning.
• Documenting and reporting on students' progress including grading assignments, quizzes and tests in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with administrator and colleagues in planning and facilitating middle school activities and events.
• Attending meetings with parents and staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.
• Minimum level of Education: College Degree
• Minimum amount of Work Experience: 1-3 years preferred
• Area of related work experience: Science and Math experience
• Applicants should hold a North Carolina teaching certificate in Science and Math, grades 6-8.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church who have prior teaching experience in a Catholic school setting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to provide a differentiated instructional environment that incorporates a wide range of instructional strategies, including cooperative and project based learning, independent and small group activities with hands-on learning experiences.
