Position Summary:
A vibrant faith community of approximately 2500 families is seeking a full-time Campus Youth Minister to lead and inspire middle and high school students (grades 6–12) in their journey of faith. Serving approximately 120 students each year, this role centers on forming young disciples through a dynamic program built on the LifeTeen framework — fostering a deeper relationship with Christ through community, catechesis, worship, and service.
The ideal candidate will bring creativity, warmth, and organizational excellence to every aspect of youth ministry. This person should be both a visionary leader and a hands-on planner, capable of balancing formation and evangelization with the administrative and relational needs of a thriving program.
This position reports to the Director of Operations, works closely with the Faith Formation Team, and offers an opportunity to build on a strong foundation while shaping the next generation of disciples.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program grounded in the LifeTeen large group model, integrating faith formation, evangelization, service, and social connection.
- Coordinate sacramental preparation for Confirmation, included within the LifeTeen model, using a two-year formation approach.
- Build community among students from various educational settings, uniting them through shared faith experiences, retreats, service projects, and parish events.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteer teams, catechists, and peer leaders who serve within the program.
- Communicate consistently with parents, volunteers, and parish leadership through multiple platforms (email, social media, newsletters, etc.).
- Plan and oversee fundraisers, service initiatives, and special events aligned with program goals.
- Maintain accurate records for registration, attendance, and program finances while ensuring all policies and safe environment protocols are met.
- Collaborate with parish staff and ministry teams to align youth initiatives with the broader mission of the community.
- Contribute to annual planning and budgeting, providing progress updates and evaluation of program outcomes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, youth ministry or similar education.
- At least 2 years’ experience in youth ministry.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong personal relationship with Christ.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, multitask, and manage details effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable using digital tools and social media to engage youth and families.
- Availability for evening and weekend commitments.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Passionate about walking with teens and helping them encounter Christ in authentic, relatable ways.
- Skilled at connecting with diverse groups — from teens and parents to volunteers and clergy.
- Collaborative and open to sharing leadership within a team environment.
