Position Summary:
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Coordinator, Middle School Formation to join its team!
Key responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and evaluates the middle school youth ministry program and curriculum using small group-based process to include:
- a primacy of evangelization
- best practices with middle school youth
- an engaging program with opportunities that include worship, retreats, fun, social and service elements
- a primacy of evangelization
- Coordinates, implements, and leads Mercy Camp (a social justice summer camp) in coordination with the Director of High School and Young Adult ministry, utilizing key stakeholders.
- Recruits and trains the Middle School Youth Ministry Core Team (adult volunteers) in planning and executing ministry sessions, fellowship events, retreats, and service opportunities with a focus on evangelization.
- Co-coordinates the Teen Helper component of the Vacation Bible School Program for elementary age students each summer.
Minimum Requirements:
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training
- Bachelor’s degree in theology or related field
- Active, fully initiated, practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Committed to the primacy of evangelization in ministry
- Dedicated to collaborative ministry and the advancement of a vision of the Church as promoted by the Second Vatican Council
- Strong relational, communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Basic/Advanced catechist certification (or willing to complete within 2 years)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience with middle school ministry, youth ministry, and/or religious education
- Experience in educational setting and/or parish setting
- Experience in motivating and mobilizing volunteers
- Experience in basic data management, project planning, and time management
- Ability to work collaboratively and creatively with others in a vibrant and active parish
- Ability to interpret ministry budgets
