Weekly schedule: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Position Summary:
St. Ann in Clayton, NC is currently accepting applications for the part-time position of Assistant Bookkeeper. Under the supervision of the Business Manager, the Assistant Bookkeeper is responsible for processing the day-to-day finances and expenses of the parish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists the Bookkeeper as necessary to record and maintain financial transactions and statements of the parish.
- Utilizes various technologies, programs, and computer software systems to perform work functions
- Works closely with volunteers and vendors, including but not limited to, collecting the offertory, counting the collection, and depositing the collection.
- Schedules Second Collections; Diocesan and National according to Diocese recommendations.
- Maintains contact with Diocesan Business and Finance Office, especially with the Parish Auditor.
- Coordinates with volunteers in small fundraisers as needed following Diocesan
- Prepares tax documents and contribution statements as needed.
- Works in conjunction with the Development Office and BAA chair at the parish level to process all donations received.
Secondary Duties:
- Helps/Guides English and Spanish speaking parishioners as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent business experience, as well as knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience.
- Must be proficient with using Microsoft Office Suite and Quick books.
- Proficient developing standards, analyzing information, dealing with complexity, reporting research results, data entry skills, attention to detail, confidentiality.
- Lifting of boxes of financial records for storage may be required. (approximately 10 lbs.)
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
- Employment is contingent upon applicants satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
