Position Summary:
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh is seeking a School Business Manager to join St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School. The School Business Manager is a professional who is responsible for financial and personnel operations of the School, and serves to ensure all business practices align with the School Mission, Diocese policies and adheres to proper accounting principles. Analyzes information on sub accounts, maintains all records, manages all deposits and disbursements, maintains lines of communication with all staff, and ministry leaders for proper management of funds and programs. Works with Parish and Diocese staff on HR issues, pay, benefits and coordinates personnel policies.
- Responsible for all income/expense disbursement, including proper record keeping.
- Responsible for maintaining general ledger for School, Preschool, Aftercare, Cafeteria.
- Receives and pays (after approval) all requests for funds.
- Reconciles all statements, reports and Diocese records to School chart of accounts.
- Prepares reports for Pastor, Principal, Administrator, Finance Council and Board of Directors.
- Ensures proper depository actions and reconciles all deposits.
- Onboards new staff, and prepares and releases payroll for school staff.
- Serves as primary point of contact for staff with HR, personnel, benefits, pay and policy questions.
- Maintains all records, electronic and paper in accordance with filing systems in place.
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting with 2-4 years of relevant job experience.
- Knowledge of ACS Software (Catholic School/Church accounting software program).
- Prior use of FACTS Tuition Management/Grant and Aid program.
- Knowledge of school operational vitality best practices.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training prior to the first day of work.
