Position Summary:

St. Ann Catholic Church is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Audio-Visual Technician to join the team. The Audio-Visual Technician will transport equipment and set up cameras, lighting, and video components. The AV Technician will also order necessary inventory as needed.

To be successful in the AV Technician role, you should have experience transporting, assembling, operating, and repairing equipment used for multimedia productions. You should be creative, flexible, and detail-oriented, with good communication and teamwork skills.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Transport, set up, and install media equipment and audiovisual support tools; including speakers, monitors, cameras, and equipment racks.
  • Set up and perform electrical wiring, programming, and basic construction according to layout diagrams and schedules.
  • Develop good relationships with clients to keep production moving and to assist production and/or event coordinators.
  • Run tests on videos, audio, and signals while troubleshooting any problems that arise.
  • Meet clients' standards by handling equipment malfunctions and executing a flawless event.
  • Disassemble equipment, wiring, and support tools in a safe manner.
  • Perform inventory management on equipment, wiring, and accessories.
  • Carry out any cleaning, maintenance, or repairs on audiovisual equipment.
  • Generate expense reports for management.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • In-depth working knowledge of camera and lighting techniques.
  • Strong working knowledge of audiovisual editing equipment and software.
  • Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and flexibility.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Good hearing and eyesight are required.
  • Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing background and reference checks
  • Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Audio-Visual with two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
