Position Summary:

Immaculata Catholic School is seeking a full time Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Coordinator and Resource Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Candidates possessing school resource administrative experience and resource teaching experience are preferred.  

The successful candidate will work well with the principal, Dean of Academics and resource team at Immaculata in order to manage the MTSS, resource case manage and provide resource teaching effectively in the classroom. The MTSS Coordinator will manage a team of resource teachers tasked with providing additional support for students with demonstrated needs in the classroom. Additionally, the MTSS Coordinator will provide support, in coordination with the Dean of Academics, for classroom teachers providing tier one instruction, from all-class instruction to targeted interventions. 

Ideal candidates will be comfortable in a highly collaborative, professionally challenging environment. They will be experts in research-based curriculum and instruction practices and multi-tiered support systems in K-8 institutions. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Manage the resource plans for all students at Immaculata, including annual parent meetings, writing resource plans for students, teacher training on plans, and monitoring of plan implementation and effectiveness.
  • MTSS Coordinator: manage the MTSS system at Immaculata including teacher/parent referrals, interventions, monitoring of the impact of the MTSS, and updating the MTSS as needed and in conjunction with the Dean of Academics and principal.
  • Resource Teaching: in conjunction with the Dean of Academics and resource team, provide direct instruction for a caseload of students in need of additional support and as needed. Supports include pull-out and push-in instruction, tailored to meet the needs of specific students and according to resource plans.
  • Direct Reports: Supervise, observe and manage the resource teaching team, including designate caseloads, create and modify schedules, plan and execute team meetings, and coordinate and support of team with Dean of Academics and principal.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Education, with 3 years of experience in School Leadership or Administration.
  • 5 or more years of related work experience teaching in K-12 education, Faculty Coaching and Leadership. 
  • Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
  • Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NC Teaching or Special Education License (either holding a current license or with a clear path to licensure)
  • Advanced Degree in Education
  • Spanish Language Proficiency
