Position Summary:
St. Peter Catholic Church in Greenville, NC is seeking a Sacred Music Coordinator to join its team. The Sacred Music Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the musical elements of worship services and special events within the Catholic Church. This role requires a deep understanding of liturgical music, proficiency in directing choirs and instrumentalists, and the ability to work collaboratively with clergy, musicians, and parishioners.
Key responsibilities:
- Effectively plans, coordinates, communicates, and executes the Sacred Music within the liturgical celebrations of the parish.
- Collaborates with the Pastor and Liturgical Committee in coordinating all Sacred Music related activities
- Selects music from primarily traditional hymns to occasional contemporary pieces for all liturgical celebrations for approval by the Pastor.
- Provides music support and coordination for parish funerals, weddings, bilingual celebrations, sacraments, parish school and other special and holiday events as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates Degree or higher.
- 1-3 years of related work experience.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
