Each year during Lent, Catholic schools and parishes throughout the diocese participate in the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl initiative.
Last spring, the Diocese of Raleigh collectively raised $49,009.96. In a letter addressed to Bishop Luis Rafael Zarama, the CRS president and CEO, Sean Callahan expressed his gratitude, “On behalf of all of us at CRS and those who benefit from your compassionate generosity, I am grateful for your steadfast support to ensure that human dignity is upheld and that every individual is respected and treated as a child of God.”
